Laku Chidambaram
Laku Chidambaram is the Senior Associate Dean for Academic Programs & Engagement at the University of Oklahoma’s Michael F. Price College of Business. He holds the Michael F. Price Chair in Business and is a Provost Faculty Fellow. He oversees the masters, executive and undergraduate programs in Price College, and has developed collaborative programs with ten colleges across two OU campuses.
During his tenure, the number of graduate programs doubled from five to ten (with three more to be launched next year) and the undergraduate program added eight new offerings (two majors, two certificates and four minors). The ensuing growth in enrollment--averaging 5% annually at the undergraduate level and 15% at the graduate level--has resulted in additional revenue streams, new faculty lines and broader industry impact. Reimagining the student experience by integrating experiential components, study abroad opportunities, leadership development and soft skills into business curricula has resulted in better student placements, higher starting salaries and numerous national rankings.
Laku's research on computer-supported collaborative work has been published in all the top MIS journals and in 2019 he was inducted by the Association for Information Systems as an AIS Distinguished Member–Cum Laude to the inaugural class. He has received nine teaching awards from the three universities that he has served. He has a PhD from Indiana University and an MBA from the University of Georgia.
