Cheryl Ramirez

Vice President of Organization Development,
Dolese Bros. Co.

Cheryl Ramirez began her career in 1978 at a copper mine in Southern Arizona as a clerk in the plant carpenter shop.  In 1981, Cheryl was promoted as the first female supervisor for the company and managed a crew of 40 employees (80-ton crane operators, truck drivers, painters, carpenters, laborers, and janitors).  As she grew her career, she worked in underground mine planning, managed town site maintenance, created and led an internal communications team reporting to the CEO, and ultimately landed in a newly formed role of Organizational Development consultant.   During her 19 years at the copper company, she was intimately involved with the historic organizational transformation from 1988 – 1997.   As her son entered college in 1998, Cheryl was asked to consult in Western Australia.  She jumped at the opportunity (supported by her husband and son) and lived there until December 2000, coaching the executive team through leadership initiatives.  From Australia, she went to a nickel mine in northeastern Canada in 2001, collaborating with the executive team on organizational change and leadership development. In 2002 Cheryl joined BP in Houston for five years, designing and leading a program created to grow and develop future VPs (mainly women) before moving to Oklahoma in 2007.  She developed and led the Organizational Development department at OGE, went to Continental Resources in 2013 to build and grow their Organizational Development department, and now is enjoying working as part of the executive team at Dolese Bros Co., building the foundation for employee and leadership development.  Cheryl has been in the workforce for 46 years and married just as long to her high school sweetheart, Mark, who retired from managing his business in 2021.  Her son is 44 and works for Spotify in NYC as Sr. Director of Global Workforce Analytics.  Kenny, a 4-year-old Jack Russell terrier, joined the family in December 2020.
